Our mother Sabine disappeared some time early December 31, 2006 onboard the ship, on a cruise with our family.
She was 62 years old, sportive and at good health. She had an open character and inspired others with her good spirits.
She disappeard on the journey between Madeira and Southampton when the ship was in Portoguese or international waters. There is no clue to what might have happended. Please help us find out what may have happenend. We highly value any comments or hints.

- On December 21, 2006 Stephen Wright (48) was arrested. The former QE2 steward is charged with murdering 5 women (not on the ship). Still any relation? Period of employment on the QE2 of Mr. Wright is not kown. Further info requested.
- Stephen Wright (48) wurde am 21. Dezember 2006 festgenommen. Dem ehemaligen QE2 Steward wird der Mord an 5 Frauen vorgeworfen (nicht auf dem Schiff). Dennoch ein Hinweis? Die Zeitspanne seiner Anstellung auf der QE2 ist nicht bekannt. Mehr Informationen notwendig.
- A former passenger reports that she was robbed three times on cruises with the QE2 in 2002 and 2004. US$ 8000 missing. Any relation?
- Ein Passagier berichtet, dass er in den Jahren 2002 und 2004 drei mal auf der QE2 ausgeraubt wurde und insgesamt eine Summe von US$ 8000 fehlt. Irgendeine Verbindung?

Jan. 19, 2007 - I truly hope that you can find your mother, Sabine. She looks such a bright and cheerful lady and I am sure that you must miss her greatly. I am staff on a cruise discussion site and we have followed this closely...I, personally have been contacted by people from Germany through the site asking if there is any further information...from what I have heard from Ross (cruisejunkie) most discussion boards have been asked the same thing. We have a thread regarding this incident, and I just posted the web address to this page to that thread, perhaps someone will see it and be able to help you...I don't know, but there is certainly no harm in trying. - Liebe Familie von Sabine L, als ehemaliger Schwimmeister schließe ich die Möglichkeit, daß Ihre liebe Mutter im Swimming-Pool verunglückt ist, nicht aus.Evtl. nicht abgedeckte Ansaugleitungen der Umwälzanlage, sowie die Ansaugrohre der Gegenstromanlage, können selbst für einen zierlichen Erwachsenen zur tötlichen Falle werden. Falls diese Möglichkeit noch nicht überprüft und untersucht wurde, würde ich dies veranlassen.

- Vorab mein absolutes Mitgefühl für die Familie. - Schon bei der ersten Vermißten-Meldung Anfang des Jahres dachte ich an das Buch "Mord an Bord" von Hera Lind. Vielleicht finden Sie darin eine denkbare Lösung. Frau Lind beschreibt mehrere Versionen, von denen sie auf einer eigenen Kreuzfahrt erfuhr. Dieser Gedanke ließ und läßt mich nicht los, deshalb ergreife ich diese Möglichkeit, ihn Ihnen mitzuteilen.

- May I offer my deep sympathy for this dreadful situation. I am very sorry for what you are going through. I was a passenger on the ship, together with my husband, and was distressed when the news broke of her disappearance which was announced in the middle of the day on New Year's Eve. Unfortunately I did not see your mother, so, regretfully, cannot be of practical help in that way and was on a different deck. I don't know if you were happy about the way the ship handled the situation and I hope they did all feasible. I couldn't understand why they did not distribute a photograph and pin it up at various points, so that people could have recalled if they had seen your mother while the search was under way. I kept hoping she would turn up somewhere unexpected. I was puzzled by the account given that she was seen at 10 a.m. on New Year's Eve morning, since there were people about on various decks and anything unusual would have been seen. Inevitably there are different accounts from cabin staff of these sort of timings. I heard a few variations and I hope at least that was sorted out. I am sorry it happened, sorry I haven't any information and can only offer heartfelt sympathy and hope at least there will be more information for you.

- To Sabines Family, I saw your mother swimming days earlier in the pool, she then went from hot tub to hot tub. That morning l didnt get up early so can offer no help. My thoughts are still with your family.
